Kind of accommodation

  • Apartment (in a hotel)

  • Accommodations are local style huts containing fine British Campaign furniture: bed, table, chairs, cupboard and luggage rack. Each hut has a private verandah, sitting area and private bathroom with running water. A smaller camp can be set up by the river for anglers wanting a more rustic experience.

We have two options to choose from in New Delhi: 1) A New Delhi hotel 2) A New Delhi Home-Stay with a local family (for those seeking a more authentic Indian experience). A clean, comfortable and elegant home with four guest rooms, each with private bathroom, AC and heating, satellite TV, mini-fridge and electronic safe. Each room opens to an outdoor sitting area. Dinner is cooked by house staff.

    What's Included:
Transfers between New Delhi and camp. Accommodation in New Delhi. All meals and beverages. All tackle. One fishing guide per angler. All fishing permits and taxes. All local transfers. Seven days guided fishing and seven nights accommodation at camp.

    Terms and Conditions:

    Terms and Conditions

Receipt of deposit and / or final payment is acknowledgment that registrant has read and accepts all our Terms and Conditions.

    Reservations and Payments

Payments can be made via wire-transfers or PayPal

An advance deposit of 50% of the total per-person cost of the trip will be required in order to confirm your itinerary. Please note that dates and availability are subject to realization of advance deposit. To avoid the disappointment of not being able to secure the dates that you want, reservations must be made as early as possible.

The balance full payment for the trip is due 60 days before trip departure date.

PayPal Transactions: Please note that a 5% surcharge is applicable on all PayPal transactions. Currency conversion charges to INR (Indian Rupees) will be born by the client.

    Travel Insurance

Because deposits and final payments for trip packages are non-refundable, it is highly recommended that you purchase trip insurance in the event that you have to cancel, postpone or reschedule your trip for any reason.

Due to the nature of our business, the limited spots available, we do not give refunds of deposits or full trip fees. We suggest that you obtain trip insurance. The reason for our inability to refund deposits/payments is that we may have turned down clients while holding your deposit and space for you and it is next to impossible to fill a vacated space close to the departure dates of the tour.

However, if you wish to cancel the tour for any reason then a written notice of cancellation is mandatory prior to The Himalayan Outback putting the trip up for sale. If we rebook the trip, a 15% (of the total value of the trip) cancellation penalty will apply. All other deposits and payments will be returned to canceling party. If the trip does not sell prior to the balance due date (15 days prior to arrival) a 100% cancellation penalty will apply.

The Himalayan Outback cannot be help responsible for any delays caused by hazards beyond of our control. This includes airline, baggage delays, delays caused by landslides, rain or any other natural hazards.

    Additional information

The ultimate vision behind our work at The Himalayan Outback is to expose people both nationally and internationally to the natural and cultural treasures found only in India’s Himalayas. We strive to reconnect people to the stunning environment, the amazing flora, fauna, aquatic life, and inspiring communities that have inhabited this precious land for centuries. By reconnecting to wild, untouched, and natural India – we hope to raise environmental awareness, assist in developing a deeper respect for the local cultures, and contribute to conservation efforts to protect the ancient lifestyles and ecosystems of this sacred region.

    THO and Conservation:

We often serve as facilitators of conservation efforts against poaching in many of the areas we work in. By creating a space for community members to share their voice, we work together to find other ways for economic development that still preserves the indigenous lifestyle and surrounding eco system.

    Angling Guidelines:

To ensure the longevity of the beautiful aquatic life that inhabit India’s Himalayas, we maintain strict angling guidelines. All of our angling adventures require permits that benefit local communities and follow a strict catch-and-release guideline. We believe strongly in making every effort to preserve the fragile ecosystem that creates the magic found in the Himalayas.

    Environmental Guidelines:

All of our THO camps and lodges follow the strictest of environmental guidelines. Our policies are based on a high regard for the environment, and we request our guests to adhere to environmental guidelines to help keep the fragile habitat clean and un-spoilt. We wish to keep the environment and resources sustainable to benefit the locals, future generations and us.

    The Western Ramganga River Lodge:

In order for us to have a truly serene and private location we have chosen to set up our lodge a little less than 1 km from the nearest road. (As a result a mild walk is required to reach our lodge.) The Western Ramganga River lodge strives for minimal impact and we like to provide our guests with the genuine opportunity to unplug, hence we have chosen not to have any electricity. All of the lighting at the lodge is hence done with lanterns and LED lights.

In accordance with our vision, we do not permit any battery operated loud music. Our lodge is overlooking a rich part of the reserve and our guidelines are designed for keeping the surrounding habitat, pristine and intact. You hence stand a chance of seeing wildlife from the lodge and you are guaranteed to see several species of resident & migratory birds.
